Nigerian Army corporal kills Brigadier General James in Lagos

Brigadier General O. A. James, a top leader in the Nigerian Army, has died.

James was in charge of finances at the Nigerian Armed Forces Resettlement Centre (NAFRC) in Lagos.

He died Tuesday night after he was hit by a car driven by a drunk officer, Abayomi Ebun.

When the accident happened, James was on his way to his room in the dorms.

The late General was taken to the NAFRC Medical Centre, where it was determined that he was dead.

The provost guards are holding the corporal in custody. The Army has not yet replied.

James has a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Accounting. He is a member of the Nigerian Army Finance Corps and has been given the Meritorious Service Star (MSS).

He was a member of the Nigerian Institute of Management, the Chartered Institute of Taxation, and the National Institute. He was also a fellow of the Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN).
