The self-help book “Think and Grow Rich” by American author and self-help guru Napoleon Hill (1883–1970) is his best-known work. Hill’s early years were characterized by deprivation and suffering because he was born in a one-room cabin in Wise County, Virginia. Due to his challenging upbringing, he left school at a young age.
Industrialist Andrew Carnegie recruited Hill in 1908 to interview successful people and research the success principles. His later writing was influenced by this event, and he went on to publish several works on self-actualization.
