NLC declares two-day warning strike over hardship citizens face

The Nigeria Labour Congress’s leaders have decided to hold a two-day warning strike from September 5 to September 6, 2023.

The president of NLC made the statement in Abuja on Friday. He said that the union would get all of its members to go on an indefinite strike if the federal government didn’t do something about the terrible problems Nigerians are having right now.

Ajaero said that the union made the choice after a meeting of the National Executive Council in Abuja.

In addition to threatening to go on strike, NLC has said that the federal government is interfering with the union’s business, especially the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).

The union also said that it was sad that the people were hurting because the fuel support had been taken away. It also said that there was nothing that could be done to help the people.

“We’ve decided to shut down the whole country for good within 14 working days, or 21 days from now, until the government does something about the terrible pain and poverty that people are going through all over the country.

“On Tuesday and Wednesday, September 5th and 6th, 2023, we will start.
