All you need to know about Robert Kiyosaki
American entrepreneur, investor, and author Robert Kiyosaki was born in Hilo, Hawaii, on April 8, 1947. His best-selling book “Rich Dad Poor Dad”—one of the all-time best-selling personal finance books—has sold millions of copies worldwide and is his most well-known work.
Growing up in Hawaii, Kiyosaki attended the United States Merchant Marine Academy in New York and earned a degree in marine engineering there in 1969. Later, he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and participated in the Vietnam War as a helicopter gunship pilot.
Kiyosaki began his business career after leaving the military by working for Xerox Corporation. He then launched a company selling Velcro wallets. After that, he started making real estate investments and established Cashflow Technologies, Inc. to teach people about money.
The 1997 self-published “Rich Dad Poor Dad” book by Kiyosaki was an immediate hit. Since then, it has been translated into dozens of languages and has inspired a number of further publications and resources for financial education.
In addition to being a well-liked speaker, Kiyosaki has shared his financial knowledge on several TV and radio programs. Some financial experts have criticized him for advocating risky investment strategies, but his supporters applaud him for placing a strong emphasis on financial literacy and for taking an unconventional approach to wealth accumulation.
Kiyosaki launched multiple businesses, including the Rich Dad Company and Cashflow Technologies, in addition to his writing, lecturing, and real estate investing. Together with his wife, Kim Kiyosaki, he is currently a resident of Phoenix, Arizona.
